Just in!!!!! Super falcons escapes crash 


Five members of the super falcons luckily escaped death as their aircraft radiates smoke. The players were eventually forced to travel by road from Doula to Yaounde where they will be playing the 2016 women’s championship final against the host, Cameroon.

Five members of the Super Falcons escaped a possible aircraft crash ahead of this year’s African women cup of nation’s final. 

According to Nigerian bulletin, the players were then forced to travel from Doula to Yaounde by road on November 30, as the aircraft that was suppose to convey them developed electrical fault shortly before take off. 

Nigeria face host, Cameroon in the final of the Women’s nations cup after winning their semi-final match against South Africa 1 – 0. 

The Super Falcons got to the airport the same time as the South African team who will face Ghana in their third place match. 

At Doula airport, CAF officials could not secure enough seats for the whole Nigerian team on a plane, and the remaining five were booked on another aircraft which could not fly. The trip from Douala to Yaounde is four hours by road. 

“The team experienced some delay at the airport but at the end, all the players and officials could not board the same plane because it was small and could not accommodate the Nigerian and South African team.  As a result, five member of the team were left behind.” Guardian reported. 

“The remaining five were eventually booked on another plane, but as they were about to start their journey, smoke started erupting from the aircraft due to electrical problem and all the passengers were evacuated.” The remaining five had to complete their journey to Yaounde by road.
