Security guard arrested for alleged torturing of sex worker. 


Muhammed Useni, 19 was arrested on Monday for alleged torturing of a sex worker. 

Useni was brought before a Tinubu Magistrates’ court in Lagos for alleged assault and occasioning grevious harm. 

The defendant pleaded not guilty and was granted a bail of N20, ooo and one sure in the like sum. 

The Magistrate, Mr. Adedoja Kazeem, said that the surety must be a family member of the defendant and must also be gainfully employed. 

The Prosecutor, Inspector Phillip Osijale, explained to the court that the accused had on February 28, at around 4:20am, at Avalon in Lekki, Lagos assaulted Miss Folashade Kolawole. 

He disclosed that the accused had flogged Kolawole with a horse-whip, inflicting serious bruises on her. 

The Prosecutor disclosed that the defendant had beaten Kolawole to pulp, affirming that she uses his duty post to solicit for customers after his previous warning to make her vacate the spot. 

“Useni claimed that he caught her there again with one of her numerous customers, which led to the whipping.”

Osijiale said that the offence violated Section 171 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.

The section specifies three years imprisonment for the offender, if found guilty.

The matter was adjourned till March 22.
