Court orders forfeiture of former CJ’s N50m.

The Federal High Court Judge, Justice A. M. Liman, in Enugu, Enugu State, has ordered a provisional forfeiture of N50 million in a bank account belonging to former Chief Judge of Enugu State, Justice Innocent Umezulike.

The former Chief Judge is one of the Judges being probed by the commission for alleged corruption.

The directive was given in response to a suit filed by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) asking for the freezing, seizure and forfeiture of assets and properties linked to the accused.

The Chief Judge is being probed for alleged abuse of office and receiving delectation.

Innocent Umezulike

Umezulike will be arraigned at a Federal High Court in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, on a four-count charge edging on false asset declaration.
