The National Assembly has began looking into the allegations slammed against the Senate President, Bukola Saraki and Senator Dino Melaye so that they won’t be abusing the privileges in the Upper legislation.
The senate is investigating the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, on accusations that he is reportedly using his office as a means of revenge against Custom Service boss, Hammed Alli, while Senator Dino is being alleged for forgery of certificate he used to ran for legislative seat.
The Senate decided to probe Saraki and Melaye following a motion raised by Borno South representative, Ali Ndume, saying that the accusations against the two senators should be looked into so aa to make sure that the two senators are not abusing their legislative privileges.
Ndume said that the Senate invited Hammed Ali because he was alleged to have seized a bulletproof Range Rover owned by SarakiSaraki because it lacks the formal papers needed to be checked before the Senate can move on with questioning Ali alleged to have been collecting custom duties on old vehicles.
Ndume said further that allegations against Melaye that he is not a graduate contrary to what was in his CV has to be looked into also, so as to the reveal the truth.
The Senate Committee on Ethics and Privileges has started investigating the matter and will report back in fourteen days.
