The former Jigawa State governor, Sule Lamido, who was in detention has been moved to Dutse, the capital of Jigawa to face trial over indecent speech.
The Nigeria police zone 1 had put the former Foreign Affairs Minister, Alhaji Sule Lamido in detention last Saturday following petition by Jigawa state Government.
According to Vanguard, security sources at zone 1 disclosed that fully armed policemen escorted the stouthearted PDP member on an hour trip in Toyota Hilux to the state capital.
An anonymous security officer among the escort told Vanguard that:
“We left Kano for Dutse around 5.30am , and as I speak to you, we are already in Dutse for formal arraignments of the former Governor”.
It was further learnt that security have been placed on alert in Dutse to stop any protest from the supporters of Sule Lamido.
The Zone 1 Police Public Relation Officer, Sambo Dasuki while verifying the development said,
“Yes, Lamido is in Dutse to face trial”.
