Conte backs Moses, says he was tired

The Chelsea Manager has defended his player from critics after he became the fifth player to be sent off in FA cup final after he was sent off in Saturday’s FA cup final against Arsenal.

The wing – back was received his first booking when he fouled Danny Welbeck and was given his marching orders by referee Taylor after he was alleged to have dived inside Arsenal’s penalty box.

Conte said:

“Honestly, I did not see the situation. I do not know for sure, but there is a lot of attention on this moment. Sometimes I think it could be tiredness.”

“We are at the end of the season and a lot of players are tired and then there is a lot of pressure. For sure, it is not a good situation to dive, it is true.

“But Moses is an honest player and if there was this situation he was tired and he did not want to cheat the referee.”

The blues eventually lost 2-1, making the gunners and the arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, the most successful club in the FA competition.
