TWO women allegedly involved in lesbianism in Benin City, Edo State, are in the custody of the state Police Command.
It was learned that they were arrested after a tip-off by members of the public who described it as a taboo to the customs and traditions of the country.
The two accused ladies, (names withheld), were said to have opened up to Police authority that it was true that they were involved in sexual activities when they were arrested.
According to a Police source who pleaded for anonymity, told Vanguard that the two women were apprehended at a motel in the Government Reservation Area (G.R.A), Benin City on October 18, 2017.
One of the women was said to have told the Police in her confessional statement that she is bi-sexual and has a partner who had travelled outside the country hence she wanted to satisfy her sexual urge with the other suspect, not knowing that people were aware of her implicit acts.
She said that it was her first time of engaging in such act with her accomplice, explaining that she has an hidden lover who has traveled outside the country on the day she was arrested.
Police source verified that the women who are in detention will be charged to court to face their judgement as steps has been taken to also apprehend her accomplice.
