A Colorado girl, Ashawnty Davis killed herself after a video of her fighting a bully went viral on social media.
Ashawnty Davis, 10, a fifth- grade student of Sunrise Elementary school in Aurora, Colorado had got into her first and, also her last school fight after the video record was shared online.
She died on Wednesday, after taking her off life support at a children’s hospital, two weeks after she was found hanging at home.
Her father, Anthony Davies told Fox 31 Denver, “It’s just devastating.”
“She was just a child of joy and she brought joy to everyone,” he added.
Ashawnty’s mother, Latoshia Harris, acknowledged that the girl had been bullying her.
“I saw my daughter was scared,” Ms Harris said.
“My daughter came home two weeks later and hanged herself in the closet,” Ms Harris said.
Her parents hope their plight will help save the lives of other children.
“We have to stop it and we have to stop it within our kids,” Mr Davis added.
“I want other parents to know that it’s happening. That was my baby and I love my baby and I just want mothers to listen,” Ms Harris said.
