The Joint Admission Matriculation Board, JAMB, has began the 2018 UTME registration in over 600 centres across all states including FCT and will close in February 2018.

The Board’s spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, said in a statement on Thursday, that candidates are urged to register earlier before the available slots in their state of choice are filled up.

Fabian said, “Candidates are advised to register within this time frame as the Board will not extend the registration period.”

The 2018 UTME registration exercise commenced on Wednesday.

The Board maintained it would only post candidates to the examination town chosen at their point of registration.

The Board said, “The exercise from our tour of centres today clearly showed that this is one of the best registration regime of the Board in recent time. It is easy, smooth and hitch free.”

The Board said the registration process is easy and straightforward and candidates should do it themselves to avoid any fraudulent act.

JAMB said candidates can get their e-pins with their ATMs or through Interswitch and other online platforms.

The Board said  access to the optional mock examination will close by December 30 and only those who registered or showed their interest before that date will be able take the examination.

JAMB reiterated that the registration fee is N5,000 while an extra N500 will be charged for a compulsory reading text “IN DEPENDENCE” and “The Last Days at Forcados High School”.

The text is for the 2018 UTME and direct entry candidates respectively.
